my name's evan, and i'll have lost my exuberant teenage years by the time you've read this (or so i think). i'm a dichotomy of two separate stereotypes: namely a geek and a jock. explicitly stated so as not to be confused with what GQ and various other fashion magazines advertise as the 'geek sheik'. an explaination of, lies within the actual journal. i urge you to read the introductory post, before reading any others.
a certified narcissist, hedonist and realist. optimistic in all the right aspects, yet jaded to the point of cynicism in all the others. i'm a happy drunk, which explains a lot, and i get drunk a lot, which also explains a lot. known to be loquacious and sarcastic, two traits not many are accustomed to.
am currently studying in a university of questionable prestige, doing a course i'd rather not be doing, though those who keep track of world updates are assured that it is the breakthrough course of this millennia.
labelled as a musical elitist, but doesn't listen to conor oberst or the velvet underground. it would be pointless to name all my favourite artists. However to name a few, i have seen live: death cab for cutie, sigur ros, something for kate, broken social scene, john mayer, the fray and motion city soundtrack. has recently bought the latest (though clearly not new) strokes and flaming lips cds at highly discounted prices. currently listening to dave matthew's band's crash into me as i type.
as previously mentioned, i am decidedly an alcoholic. and as you're bound to deduce, i'm somewhat liberal. one has to be, living on the corner of of vice and virtue in a city with an underlying drug problem.
this journal is written as a series of memoirs and snippets of my current life that intertwine with one another. it's written in no proper chronological order, but rather a storyboarded progressive manner. hopefully i capture a certain manner of continuity. all events are based on actual happenstance, but all names are changed to retain anonymity.
to end this wordy bio, i thank you for reading to this point. if you didn't find me overbearing and/or boring, feel free to add me.
